Winter, 2007 -- The winter season is upon us and motorists should be careful during their travel. If you are traveling on an extended trip or for work, give yourself extra travel time, watch for slides, observe emergency vehicles and service workers on the roadway, carry extra food, water, blankets, a fully charged cell telephone, games for the kids and an extra flashlight.

Coos County fared well during the recent storm. We experienced minimum damage in most areas of the county except for Bandon. Our 911 Center answered 71 calls for services related to the storm. The calls mostly reported downed trees and power lines, as well as power outages.
