Contact the Tillamook County Sheriff's Office & Sheriff Todd Anderson
OREGON SHERIFF Magazine News Sheriff Anderson began his law enforcement career with the Washington County Sheriff's Office as an Explorer in 1975. While there, he worked as a Marine Patrol Assistant, Dispatcher and Corrections Deputy before leaving in 1985 to become a Police Officer for the Rockaway Police Department. Winter, 2007 -- Tillamook County experienced one of the worst storms in recent memory. High winds reaching in excess of 130 mph along with over 20 inches of rain in a 48-hour period led to many trapped citizens, 3 fatalities, several days without power and shortages of potable water in many smaller communities. The County Incident Management Team consisting of key public safety personnel worked around the clock to meet the needs of the community. Reverse 911 calls sent out to warn citizens in areas prone to flooding, and public information announcements made by Sheriff Anderson about disaster preparedness, were key in preparing our citizens before the storm actually hit.
